As an educator my mission is to work collaboratively with students, parents, and colleagues to promote cultural awareness, establish respect and awareness of others - especially towards students with special and specific learning disabilities.  I aim to assist students in meeting and exceeding grade-level academic expectations through academic rigor and differentiated instruction, help students develop a sense of purpose, and assist students in becoming college & career ready pupils.

* I hold a K-12th General Education Multiple Subject teaching credential, a Mild to Moderate Special Education teaching credential, and a Reading Specialist credential. –from CSULA.

* I hold a Master’s Degree in Education: Option in Reading- from CSULA.

In 2009 & 2013 I received special recognition from the board of education, the city of Los Angeles, the state senate, and the assembly- for assisting the students of my previous work locations meets state grade- level standards.

Due to lack of seniority within the Los Angeles Unified School District, I have had the immense pleasure of working at a few different schools serving the students of Los Angeles. I've obtained the opportunity of collaborating with many diverse colleagues on effective teaching pedagogy and learning from various seasoned teachers as well as school administrators on what it takes to become an effective teacher. I started my teaching career as a general education teacher and then transitioned to special education.

I wholeheartedly believe that students greatly benefit both socially and academically from attending a (K-8) Span School. I am excited to be here at Glen Alta, and collaborating with such a professional group of educators in an effort to move forwards towards helping our students achieve academic success.

In my classroom, I expect students to believe in themselves, try their absolute best, be prepared and ready to learn, be respectful to each other and adults, and to follow directions on a daily basis. What students can expect of me is to believe in them as learners. They can also expect to receive the opportunity to engage in a variety of effective & differentiated academic learning activities that will enhance their understanding of common core subject matter taught in the general education setting.

I would highly encourage parents to enroll their children at Glen Alta Span School first and foremost because it has a hard working group of teachers & staff who believe in academic excellence.
